Art work remains one of Edie's principal activities. Collage making is popular, as she loves to cut, glue, and tape. And she loves water color as well. She has also taken it upon herself to decorate our walls with her latest works.

While Dad's away...
While we still miss him when he's gone away on business, the kids and I have our routine down to a science these days. One fun part is that they take a bath together when Will is gone - when he's home, we divide and conquer for efficiency's sake. But Edie and Eli do have a lot of fun together. Edie is also a pretty big help, for a 3 year old! When I need to confine Eli for a moment in his bed so I can deal with the oven or the like, Edie climbs in there with him, armed with a pile of toys to keep him happy. But they usually just spend the time wrestling and giggling anyhow.
First Birthday
Our little guy is ONE!! We had a small get together with some of our great neighborhood friends in our backyard. Edie was very insistent that there be balloons at Eli's party, and who am I not to let big sis have her input? We went to Kroger the day before and she got to pick out a group of them. I bought a cake big enough for 42 people (thanks, Costco!), and we had a tacos and margaritas (juice boxes for the under 21 toddler crowd). It was a fun, low-key night, and Eli had a blast.
Starting to think about walking?
Eli has been scooting around since he was 5 months old, and crawling like the dickens since he was about 7 months. But I think it's this efficiency on all fours that is de-incentivizing his transition into walking. Not that I'm a big mile stone pusher. Especially with my second! But, it would be pretty convenient when we are out and about, as my little guy gets tired of being constrained, and I am remiss to let him slither all over stores or restaurants. Oh well. It will all happen soon!
Here he is over the past month, starting to get interested in this whole bipedal craze.
