Trip to Indiana

We took a trip to Indiana to visit the Grissom clan and celebrate Sarah's high school graduation. It was also just a couple weeks shy of Eli's first birthday so we sang him the birthday song and age some angel food cake with him as well. Grandma and Papa gave Eli some awesome gifts, including some great musical instruments that he can't get enough of. We've had daily jam sessions ever since! The car trip was a bear, though Edie was a big helper and amazingly patient with her brother's impatience. Edie spent her days with her aunts and Grandma, tending to the horses and plants. She even pet the new baby - Daphne the foal! It was a great time. 

Summertime

We are having a blast this summer. Eli is getting bigger, so he loves - and needs - to be out and about. And Edie is full of energy, as always. We've been at the YMCA pool, though that is a full-on outing so there will probably never be photos of it. We picnic almost daily. Trips to the playground, zoo, and spraygrounds (small parks with little fountains for the kids to stomp around in) are some of our favorite destinations.

Dad and Eli have gotten so close lately. Eli has even taken to pounding on the front door and yelling "DADA!" around dinner time, which is when Will usually gets home. They're having more and more fun together as Eli turns toward toddlerhood. Here they are unwinding before bath and bedtime.
