Afternoon picnic

It's been in the 80s this week! This afternoon was breezy and overcast, though, so the heat was mitigated and we spent the whole day outside. After naps, we packed up the dogs and the double stroller to go to the nature park. I took a walk first, then we all ate some snacks (grapes and sugar snap peas for Eli, pineapple for Edie, and watermelon for me). Afterwards, the kids played in the giant sand pit. Eli got dirtier than ever before, and was very pleased. We arrived home late for dinner, dusty and spent. It was a nice afternoon.

Snuggle buddy

When eli gets overwhelmed, he either screams or if I pick him up in time, he buries his face in the crook of my neck and sucks his thumb. He only does it for me. And I love it so much. It always stops time for me, reminding me what a little guy he is. And how fast this time all goes. I'm grateful for these little moments. But they're hard to get a picture of because if he sees dad with a camera, he hams it up no matter how sleepy he is.
