Edie is in school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So Thursday and Friday have been dubbed mama days. I love these days though Eli's naps can make it challenging. We had a pretty warm day on Friday so we kept busy with the sandbox and some water work. She realized quickly that the hollow syringe I gave her to play with (a medicine leftover) could be used to squire at and terrorize the dogs. So that was pretty much the highlight of mama Friday. I also found a few minutes to give her a backyard haircut. Oh, and we painted with watercolor. And we walked to a playground. And we did stamping. Also read a stack of books. Thursdays and Fridays are a bit tiring.
Edie loooves school and if/when I begin to work more, she may attend 4 or 5 days. But for now, in spite of the occasional difficulties, I love my mama days.

Moving on up!
Eli is moving all over and he recently became very interested in getting vertical. We might need to be rethinking storage solutions soon!!

Food lover
Eli is still a week shy of 8 mo but he is eating like a champ! It's so easy when they're only nursing and so I was in no hurry. But by 6 mo old he was literally hollering at us when we would eat and even imitating our chewing. And if we wondered whether we got it right, he let us know with unabashed joy when we got him a high chair and began sharing our meals with baby bro. Favorite foods at the moment are broccoli, pears, quinoa, brown rice, sweet potatoes, apples and cauliflower.

Sedona
We recently got back from almost a week in Sedona, AZ. Will had a medical imaging conference there, and so we took the opportunity to make a family vacation out of it. We were lucky enough to have Grandma Sally & Papa join us as well! It wasn't terribly eventful on account of naptimes and mom feeling under the weather, but we were glad for the chance to see such an amazing part of the country. We hope to go back when everyone is a little more travel-ready!

Edie's third birthday
We celebrated Edie's third birthday with many school and neighborhood friends. I was a little worried that - excited as she was - Edie would be totally overwhelmed by the experience. She had the time of her life! I think we are all still recovering, but it was so much fun. The only bit that almost did her in was when everyone sang the birthday song. But she kept a stiff upper-lip and just stared right at me. My big kid.
We went to a local indoor playground, which had a giant climbing structure, make-believe store, ball pit, costumes, train set, and so much more. I'd have loved to do an outdoor party, but January birthdays make it a little too dicey, even in Nashville. I think next year will be a low key affair, but we were all so happy with how this came out. The kids had a blast, and the parents got a break. All you could want.
