What the babies are up to

Edie and I put some old toilet paper rolls to good use, making some flowers and an oatmeal canister vase.  Little Eli is starting to get more interested in his toys, chattering and swatting at them.  Won't be long until he's getting them in his mouth!

Stomach Bug

Poor little Edie got her first real stomach bug a couple weeks ago.  I sent her off to school not suspecting anything, and got a call 45 minutes later that she'd lost her breakfast all over the classroom.  Yikes.  So we hung out all day on the couch and in her bed.  She's all better now and has spent the last two weeks eating to make up for her lost day.

Amma's visit

Amma came down from Michigan to spend part of the week with me and the kids while Will was out of town for work.  Here we are at a local ice cream parlor staying out a little later than we should've (you know, like 6:30 pm).

Experimental Fashion

One of Edie's new big kid privileges is choosing her own outfit.  A weather-appropriate portion of her wardrobe is kept in drawers that she can easily open and close.  And there are picture labels so that she knows where to put clothes away, so she helps with laundry duty as well.

She matches more often than I expected, but happily we do get some real gems of outfits as well.

Eli - 12 - 13 weeks

Eli is growing fast! He giggles, can find his hand, loves looking at himself in the mirror, splashes out buckets of water with his kicks when I bathe him, enjoys tummy time more than any baby I know, sleeps much longer at night than only a couple weeks ago, and loves to talk, talk, talk.  He is so squwaky that I worry he's going to wake up Edie sometimes! But it's hard to convince a baby to be quiet when he's making happy noises!

Sibling Love

These two are the sweetest.  Eli is about 10 weeks here, getting a big smooch from big sister.

First Day of School

Miss Edie started Montessori preschool this morning.  She was off without a glance backwards! Which is good, because her mom cried a little.  Dad will be dropping her off in the mornings, and she is enrolled for three days a week - M, Tu, W.  Today is a half day, so she will be home at 12:30.  I can't wait to hear all about it!

The basket she is holding is her lunch basket.  All of the children bring little baskets to school and not lunch bags.  You are asked to back two cloth napkins, a cup, plate, and silverware so they can learn to set the table.  She's also equipped with some brand new rain boots and a blanket I made special for school naps.

Edie has been picking out her own outfits for a few weeks now, and as much as I might have liked to have input, I didn't interfere today.  But I could not have picked a better look! She's matching and everything!

Go get 'em, tiger!!
