It was a freakishly warm day, even for Tennessee, and we surely enjoyed it!

Days of Dad
Will's been staying home a morning or two the past few weeks so I can get more studying in for the bar exam. He and E have been up to all manner of fun things as a result. And he has promised to post pictures of these events. Ball's in your court, big guy.
Bright Ideas on Tired Saturdays
Will is running on empty lately, burning the candle at both ends between grad student recruiting, grant writing, and pitching in extra around the house the past month. I am finally getting to the end of a merciless cough and cold, which somehow morphed into a days' long migraine/tension headache. Meanwhile: 3 days till I take the TN bar exam. Harumph. Between the two of us, we are a bit of a mess. This Saturday morning, before I turned Edie over for Dad-day so that I could try to study through the sensation of a sledgehammer getting personal with my right temple, I awoke to note that we had no provisions for breakfast. Just, none. And grocery shopping was slated for that afternoon, so a mini-trip to the store sounded awfully redundant. And then I remembered! We have a gift card to a fancy little restaurant in our neighborhood that's known for it's breakfasts - and it opens at 8am! It's too spendy for a normal outing so it fell off our radar, but free coupon in hand, we heartily enjoyed our labor free meal.

Our Funny Valentine
Will and I took Edie to a Valentine's Day dance for tots in our neighborhood the other day. It was fun, though a little overwhelming at first. Edie warmed up in the craft room, making Dad a valentine card, and then cut a rug on the dance floor once she got into the party vibe. Afterwards, we went out for dinner and ice cream. She did not need any coaching for that part.
Sleeping beauty
I love to see Edie asleep. But she is not one to fall asleep anywhere but in her own bed, and on her own terms, so it is hard to get it caught on film. Occasionally, she dozes off in my arms when I sing her songs before naptime. I caught this picture of her the other day in her new big girl bed. Very sweet, though I think the flash made her grimace a bit! Sorry, E!

Tails!
Not too much new 'round here. I am up to gestating and bar exam preparation, and Edie is up to talking, talking, talking. She did recently take notice of my 'do and insists on having "tails" now. I have corrected her, telling her that they're called "pony tails," but she either retorts "I am not a horse." or else curtly explains to me that "pony is a horse." Both true.
